Presidential Election & The Message of the Book of Daniel

God is the Lord of the universe, the righteous Judge of all the earth, and the Supreme authority in His creation; so He cannot do wrong, and His sovereign will cannot be thwarted. God has the last Word, at that point the discussion ends. We should not be preoccupied with or overly concerned about the outcome of the upcoming election. We trust and rest in God's sovereign plan and purpose. Daniel's book is designed to teach how the entire period of world history should be viewed. The God of heaven rules on earth, even when things on earth are out of control. God's people are always under His sovereign care even when the political and moral circumstances on earth do not appear to be in their favor. The Book of Daniel makes it clear that the one true and the living God, is the Supreme Ruler over heaven and earth even when the consequences of sin and immorality is overwhelming. "The Most High is ruler over human kingdoms. He gives them to anyone He wants." Jesus reminded Pilate that he wouldn't have any authority over Him, if it hadn't been given to him from above. God's lordship demands our recognition that all things belong to Him and are subject to His control and authority. He is Sovereign. Nothing enters into history or could ever exist outside of history that does not come under the complete control of God. Fret not, Fear not, Trust, Rest, Delight in Him, and wait for Him. He is Lord of all!
